Folk Musician and Piper

Jonathan is also a multi instrumentalist, specialising in historical and folk instruments. He has released two albums featuring his arrangements of folk tunes and some of his own compositions, performed on stage at Rothbury Traditional Music Festival alongside Alex Barrass and won multiple Northumbrian Piping competitions, including Northumbrian Smallpipes, Border Pipes and Duet entries. He plays a variety of styles, opting for a philosophy of ‘if its a good tune, play it!’  and has experience in music ranging from Medieval times, up to the present day with tunes from his peers as well as his own compositions.
